SensAble Omni in the News
February 5, 2019
The 3D Systems Touch, formerly the SensAble Omni, has been making headlines recently for its important role in surgical simulations. MANTA designed and developed the Omni for SensAble Technologies, an MIT start-up. The Omni – now Touch – is a haptic device that provides real-time force feedback to the user’s hand allowing them to touch and feel virtual objects in a digital environment. A number of institutions and companies are currently using the Touch in surgical simulation research and training for medical professionals, allowing them to practice complex procedures in a controlled virtual environment before performing them in the real world.
